Cancer Research UK | Race for Life 2024

Amey employee Lisa Crane does Cancer Research UK's Race for Life

Amey’s charity partner Cancer Research UK hosts fundraising races throughout Summer, where Race for Life participants can walk, jog, or run the 3K, 5K, or 10K race, often in support of or memory of loved ones who have been diagnosed with cancer. Since 1994, over 10 million people have taken part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, raising over £970 million. Money raised assists in the research and development of treatments to fight cancer, for example, radiotherapy.

In May 2024, our colleague, Lisa Crane demonstrated great strength and determination by participating in her local Cancer Research UK’s 5K Race for Life whilst receiving treatment for secondary breast cancer. In her efforts, Lisa raised a fantastic £325 for charity. Lisa’s treatment will eventually progress to include new drugs which have only become available in the last couple of years, thanks to the research and development made possible by this incredible fundraising.
