Journey to Work Event 

Amey hosted a Journey to Work Event on Thursday 16th February 2023 at the Bellshill and Mossend YMCA, North Lanarkshire. The event supported those who face barriers getting into the workplace by providing employment advice and workshops on CV Writing Skills and Interview Preparation. 

The event was attended by Amey, North Lanarkshire Council, Smart Works, Hays Recruitment, Job Centre Plus, Routes to Work, and Christians Against Poverty.  

Twenty jobseekers attended the event, and of that twenty, five have since applied for positions at Amey and one was successful in receiving a temporary contract through Hays. 

In addition, all job seekers now have the opportunity to join a 12-week paid work experience placement at Amey.

“We experienced a brilliant day delivering a Journey to Work Event in North Lanarkshire. It was a success, 5 candidates had applied to opportunities here at Amey, 1 has been temporary employed by one of our partners and 1 candidate had qualified financial support for childcare. We are still assisting the remaining 13 and are hopeful. These events a great for helping anyone experiencing barriers getting into employment, the first of many in North Lanarkshire.”
