A701 Parkgate | Parapet Replacements
Scheme Summary
ESSENTIAL WATERPROOFING AND PARAPET REPLACEMENTS ON A701 NORTH OF PARKGATE COMMENCES SUNDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential waterproofing and parapet replacements on the A701, 2 miles north of Parkgate, from Sunday 22nd September until Monday 2nd December.
The work will be carried out using a combination of contraflow and total closures, and a signed diversion will be in operation. Total closures will be taking place on the nights of Sunday 22nd September, Sunday 20th October, Sunday 10th November and Sunday 1st December 2024. Traffic will be diverted along the B7076 south to Lockerbie and then A709 west to Bloomfield roundabout where this diversion will end. The A701 will only be accessible for local access in between Beattock and Bloomfield roundabout. Journey time via this diversion is expected to increase by around 11 minutes.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
